Anton Harrison OT Oklahoma: Scouting Report

Height: 6’5

Weight: 315

Overall

Anton Harrison is a dominant left tackle in Oklahoma’s balanced offense. In his 3 seasons with the Sooners he played in 34 games, starting 24 of them. He has elite size and was dominant on film. He is a very good athlete for his size and should make an immediate impact in the NFL.

Pass Game

Harrison has excellent footwork in his pass protection as well as the balance and strength to matchup against the best edge rushers. He has an excellent anchor and does a great job of staying square and balanced against power rushers. He shows good athleticism and technique against speed rushers but he lacks the speed to recover when they get a step ahead of him but that is a rare occurrence with how dominant he is in his play. He shows very good vision in identifying blitzers and picking up stunts. He is a pro-ready player who has the size and technique to have a lot of success against NFL level pass rushers.

Run Game

As a run blocker, Harrison has a very strong initial punch and the leg drive to move his man and consistently open up running lanes. He is very powerful and has the strength to overpower both edge rushers and interior defenders. He is a very good vertical run blocker and can up the field in a hurry but he is not as good when moving laterally. He is still a quality blocker on outside runs but he plays his best when he can block downhill and drive his man up the field.

Last Word

While Harrison played primarily at left tackle in college, he has some experience playing on the right side and he has the skillset to do either. He projects best as a left tackle in a balanced offense with the versatility to play right tackle if needed. He already has very good technique and with his elite size and strength he can be an immediate starter in the NFL.

One-Liner: Anton Harrison is a consistent all around tackle who has the physical traits and technique to be a solid starter for a long time in the league.
