Overall

Audric Estime is an explosive, downhill running back in Notre Dame’s balanced offense. In his 3 seasons with the Fighting Irish he played in 37 games, starting 14 of them. He had excellent production during his final 2 years in college and he has a knack for finding the endzone. His blend of size, vision, and physicality will help him be an immediate contributor at the next level.

Run Game

Estime has excellent vision and patience in the backfield along with the cutting ability to evade penetrating defenders and get to the open running lane. On power runs, he does a good job of letting the play develop and following his blockers to get past the first level of the defense. On zone runs he shows good burst through the open gap but if everything is closed, he struggles making plays out of nothing. At the second level he has the athleticism to evade defenders with both cuts and hurdles as well as the top end speed to create home-run hitting plays. He has very good contact balance allowing him to bounce off defenders and stay on his feet. He does an excellent job of motoring his feet after contact allowing him to drag the pile and gain valuable yardage at the end of runs.

Pass Game

In the pass game, Estime has the size and physicality to be used as a pass blocker but did not have a lot of pass blocking reps on film. As a receiver, he has the hands to catch the ball on swing routes and as an outlet receiver and he has good acceleration after the catch to get up the field quickly. He did not have a lot of production in the pass game while at Notre Dame but he has shown that he can be a 3rd down option in the NFL.

Last Word

Estime projects best as an early down runner in a power scheme offense. While he has experience on zone runs and some experience as a pass-catcher, he plays his best when he can follow his blocks and use his explosiveness to create plays on the ground. He will need to continue developing in pass protection before he can be a reliable 3rd down back but he can make an impact as an outlet receiver if needed. His blend of size and physicality will make him an immediate impact player on special teams.
