Lewis Cine S Georgia: Scouting Report

Height: 6’2’’

Weight: 202

Overall

Lewis Cine is a hard sitting safety in Georgia’s 4-3 defense. He is versatile enough to play all over the field, but he played primarily as an over-the-top defender on the back end of the defense. In his 3 college seasons, he played in 39 games, starting 27 of them. He is an extremely physical player and plays with elite toughness. Even against the best competition, he consistently made plays on film.

Pass Game

In the pass game, Cine has experience in both man and zone coverage. In zone coverage, he has excellent closing speed and can make plays on the ball, but he lacks the range to cover from sideline to sideline on deep routes. He can play as a cover 2 safety where he can focus on one side of the field but not as a deep thirds player. In man coverage, he has the athleticism and physicality to guard tight ends, running backs, and even some receivers down the field. He was dominant in man coverage on film and can be a mismatch diffuser in the NFL.

Run Game

Cine excels against the run with his elite closing speed and aggression in getting to the ball-carrier. He flies to the football unafraid of contact and made some huge hits on film. He is an excellent tackler and has the power to stop running backs in their tracks. At times, he will overrun his man causing him to miss tackles but that comes with the force that he brings on a consistent basis. With his size, speed, and physicality, he can dominate as an in the box safety who can sift through the trash and make big plays on the ball-carrier.

Last Word

Cine projects best as an in the box safety in a 4-3 defense. While he has experience playing deep down the field, he will make more of an impact as a run stuffing safety who can also play man coverage near the line of scrimmage. His man coverage skills and tackling ability make him a very valuable player on 3rd downs and he has the tools to be an all-pro special teams player.

One-Liner: Lewis Cine has the size, physicality, and coverage skills to be a strong 3 down player early on in his career.
