Zamir White RB Georgia: Scouting Report

Height: 6’0’’

Weight: 214

Overall

Zamir White is an early down running back in Georgia’s balanced offense. In his 3 college seasons, he played in 38 games, starting 23 of them. He is a tough runner between the tackles with the burst to get to the 2nd level and make big plays. Although he was used on a rotation while at Georgia, he was an integral part of Georgia’s strong run game throughout his career.

Run Game

After the handoff, White shows very good vision and patience to read his blocks combined with the burst to attack the open running lane and get to the 2nd level of the defense. He makes good cuts and has the shiftiness to get around linemen. He also has very good power and contact balance allowing him to bowl over defenders and fight forward for extra yards at the end of plays. He has the versatility to be used in both zone and gap running schemes. He is a strong playmaker in space, yet he still excels on short yardage plays. He is a consistent chain mover and can be a very strong early down running back at the next level.

Pass Game

White was rarely used in the pass game while at Georgia. He has good speed to run routes, but he lacks the catching ability to be a receiving weapon at the next level. As a pass blocker, he has good strength and has experience protecting the quarterback, but he did not show enough success on film to be consistently used on pass protection in the NFL.

Last Word

White projects best as a 1st and 2nd down running back in the NFL. He has everything you want from an early down back with his vision, big play speed, and power to break tackles. His lack of receiving ability and pass protection skills will limit him on 3rd downs and in the pass game but he can be a key asset to any offense. He has experience on special teams and can be a valuable asset there as well.

One-Liner: Zamir White is a very good playmaker in space and can be a dominant short yardage back, but his lack of receiving ability limits his value in the NFL.
